VNC 325 3G-SDI
- Provide a codec that supports low-delay, high quality streaming of SDI, HD-SDI or 3G-SDI, embedded audio and serial RS232 data
- Rack mountable, one-half rack width, 1U high metal enclosure codec for streaming high quality audio, video and serial RS232 data with low delay shall:
- Support operation as an encoder or decoder, switchable between functions
- Provide BNC connectors for interfacing serial digital video with ancillary data or genlock connections
- Provide one 9-pin D connector for device configuration
- Provide one 9-pin D connector for RS-232 data streaming and alarm relay connection
- Provide one RJ-45 connector for network connectivity
- Provide one SFP connector supporting an optional optical or copper network interface transceiver
- Provide LED indicators for power, network, source or streaming status and critical alarms
- Support 270 Mbps, 1.485 Gbps and 2.970 Gbps serial digital data rates
- Support the following video standards, resolutions and formats:

- Support the following ancillary data – ANC audio standards :
- SMPTE 272M-A, for use with SMPTE 259M
- SMPTE 299M, for use with SMPTE 296M and SMPTE 424/425M
- Support transport of two channels of audio
- Sampling rate and bit depth decimation can be applied when two audio channels are transported. The following options are available:
- 16, 20, or 24 bit digital audio; full sampling rate
- 16 bit digital audio, half sampling rate
- 16 bit digital audio, quarter sampling rate
- Sampling rate and bit depth decimation can be applied when two audio channels are transported. The following options are available:
- Support the transport of up to 16 channels of audio, selectable in groups of four channels
- Support maintenance of the native source resolution and vertical signal frequency from encode to decode
- Provide and encode-to-decode latency of 70 ms or less, independent of network delay
- Provide a video error concealment system which does not increase streaming bandwidth or encoding delay
- Support an error correction method for embedded audio
- Support 10/100/1000 BaseT network connection speeds
- Support unicast streaming for up to four unicast addresses
- Support unicast RTP, unicast TCP, and IGMP multicast streaming applications
- Offer adjustment over the Ethernet frame Maximum Transmission Unit – MTU
- Support automatic and manual negotiation of network link speed and duplex mode

- Support a serial digital video input and loop through connection
- Support automatic sensing of the signal format and resolution
- Apply timecode referencing to audio/video streams supporting applications with multi-stream synchronization requirements
- Maintain audio and video synchronization
- Apply compression on an absolute frame basis, independently frame by frame
- Offer independent control over spatial compression of luminance and chrominance information
- Support temporal compression, applied on a sub-picture basis examining change that discriminates between luminance, chrominance and signal or image noise
- Support compression and encoding based on constant quality, variable spatial quality, or frame rate based on bit rate targets
- Offer bit rate management based on: Defined frame rate, adaptive frame dropping based on bit rate targets, adaptive spatial compression based on bit rate targets, or combined adaptive spatial compression and adaptive frame rate
- Provide a test pattern accessible from the loop through connector which is accessible using a front panel button
- Decoding operation shall:
- Support a serial digital video output connection and a genlock reference input connection
- Support audio and video synchronization
- Support genlock of video streams across multiple decoders
- Provide an adjustable buffer supporting the ability to adapt to varying network latency conditions
- Provide an output test pattern accessible from a front panel button
- Approved device shall be the Extron VNC 325 3G-SDI (60-1249-01; no alternates or equals)
