SMD 101 H.264 Streaming Media Decoder
- Provide an H.264 decoder that supports decoding of live video and audio streams and playback of AV media files available from network shares.
- Rack mountable, one-half rack width, 1” high metal enclosure that decodes audio and video shall:
- Provide an HDMI connector to supply video and audio to display systems
- Provide one set of captive screw connections on rear panel for output of line-level balanced/unbalanced analog stereo audio signals
- Provide multiple connections for device configuration from a PC, remote control, or other peripheral
- One USB connection on the front panel
- One set of RS-232 captive screw connections on rear panel
- One set of IR captive screw connections on rear panel
- Provide an IR receiver on the front of the unit for use with a hand held IR remote developed specifically for use with the decoder
- Provide one 10/100/1000 BASE-T RJ-45 network connection for device configuration, control, and receiving network media streams
- Provide three LED indicators for status monitoring
- Power LED to indicate status of device power
- Streaming/Playback LED to indicate status of streamed data
- Network LED to indicate presence of incoming or outgoing network data
- Support decoding of AV streams at resolutions including:
- 480x320, 480x360, 640x360, 640x480, 720x480, 800x480, 720x576, 800x600, 1024x768, 720p and 1080p/60
- Support scaled processing outputs from 640x480 up to 1920x1200/60 including the following resolutions and refresh rates:
- Video formats: 480p at 59.94 or 60 Hz, 576p at 50Hz, 720p at 50, 59.94 or 60 Hz, 1080i at 50 to 60 Hz, 1080p at 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 50, 59.94 or 60 Hz
- Computer-video formats: 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1366x768, 1600x1200 and 1920x1200 at 50 or 60 Hz refresh rates
- Provide internal test patterns for the identified output resolutions
- Support Extended Display Identification Data – EDID and Display Data Channel management between connected devices
- Provide the following aspect ratio management options for displaying streaming sources:
- Decoded video fills display
- Decoded video maintains source’s original aspect ratio and presents the full image
- Decoded video maintains source’s original geometry and crops the video to fill the display
- HDMI format configuration DVI, HDMI, video range (16-235), full range (0-255) 4:2:2, 4:4:4, YUV, RGB
- Support RTSP, SDP and SAP session management protocols
- Support the following unicast and multicast push streaming transport protocol combinations:
- UDP and RTP
- UDP and MPEG-2 Transport Streams
- UDP, RTP and MPEG-2 Transport Streams
- Support the following pull streaming transport protocol configurations:
- RTP/RTSP
- Interleaved RTSP (RTP and RTSP over TCP)
- HTTP tunneling (RTP and RTSP over HTTP)
- Support automatic negotiation of streaming protocols with encoding device
- Support H.264/AVC compression standard including:
- Profiles: High, Main, Baseline
- Profile levels: 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 4.0, 4.1
- I, P and B frames
- Support total streaming bit rates from 200 kbps to 40 Mbps
- Support audio bit rates from 16 kbps to 384 kbps
- Support media file playback from network shares for the following container formats:
- MP4
- MPEG-2 Transport Streams
- Support SMB/CIFS and NFS protocols applicable to network shares
- Provide a web page interface for device control and configuration that offers the following:
- Confidence monitor for viewing live video streams
- Configuration and control of device settings
- Browse streams available on the network
- Streaming channel list development
- AV media file playlist development
- Automatic channel selection on power up
- Automatic looping of a playlist
- Provide a progress bar and control over live streams and AV media files including play and pause
- Support creation of decoder configuration files that includes device settings, source definitions, channel lists and playlists which can be saved and applied to other decoders
- Provide IR remote control or wired control access to on-screen presentation of:
- Progress bar indicator for playback status
- On-screen decoder status reporting
- On-screen messaging of operating status and channel selection
- Support upload of image files at resolutions up to 1920x1080 for scheduled display or during network or streaming disruptions
- Support the following file formats for uploaded image files:
- PNG
- JPG
- TIFF
- BMP
- Provide intelligent power management capabilities including programmable timing for standby and sleep modes
- Approved device shall be the Extron SMD 101 (60-1305-01; no alternates or equals)
